On a lovely Monday evening in August, I met Amanda Kennedy and Drew McDonald on Charles Street in Boston. The weather was absolutely prefect- low 80s, beautiful fluffy clouds with moments of bright sun right when we needed it. We explored the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill and found lots of wonderful nooks! Amanda and Drew love visiting that area together, admiring the brick and colorful buildings.
We also walked through the Boston Commons Garden, jumping from one magnificent willow to the next, one of their favorite kinds of tree!
Next, Amanda showed me something new- a beautiful memorial for Boston Firemen, including her Grandfather. We spent some quiet moments there and I could tell it was a meaningful place for her.
We found too many great photo spots along the way back to the car, going 20 minutes past their meter time- but Amanda assured us that we did not have to worry because, "Drew is ridiculously lucky." Never in my Boston days have I ran out of meter time and not gotten a ticket, but she was right- ridiculously lucky- no ticket! It was incredible. As soon as we got back and they went to change outfits, Crista and I saw the meter man 3 cars down!
Our final stop was a sunset walk along the beautiful Esplanade. We hit it just right for the "golden hour," and as you can see the light was just incredible. We got bench shots, and water shots, and bridge shots, and ended right in time for a beautiful sunset photo.
Amanda was right, Drew is a lucky guy. But what she left out is that they're both lucky- the love and comfort they have between them is easy to see. I am so excited to witness their wedding and take more photos of them along with their family and friends next August at the Willowdale Estate in Topsfield Massachusetts (one of my favorite locations)!
