WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TEAM

Photography is a fantastic challenge and adventure. Snapping a pretty picture takes some skill, but our goal is to create images that people can connect with, images that capture their personalities. We take our time with clients, getting to know them, exploring fun areas, and together we create a narrative through photos. People often share that they feel nervous or awkward about being photographed- but trust us, we'll have fun, and pretty soon you'll surprise yourself!

Lauren: I have always loved photography- I inherited it from my mother, who taught me so much of what I know (namely: always try new angles, genuine smiles make for the best photos, be aware of the background/framing). I also learned my habit of smiling behind the camera from her. My photography business began while studying fine art and portrait photography in 2003. I majored in Fine Art Photography (and Psychology) at Smith College, where I refined my darkroom skills, learned how to use the earliest kinds of cameras, learned studio lighting, and began working with digital.

Crista: I started working in wedding videography in 2004 and have been hooked ever since. Every wedding is unique, and helping to capture the emotional and special parts of the day is always a fun and exciting adventure. Photos are the memories that last a lifetime, and my goal is to assist you in making your day easy by documenting all of you and your family's important moments without being obtrusive.

Piper: My love for video began in nature videography. I love writing music, scripts, and capturing the natural beauty in the word. Thus, it was a natural step into wedding videography for me, as those days are filled with beauty and love. I aim to capture the natural moments, quiet moments, and loud moments, and create an all encompassing video portrait of your day.

LOCATIONS:

Most of our weddings and events take place within 30 miles of Rochester, NY. However, we love destination weddings, and have done work in Mexico, Iceland, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and many places across the U.S. Our whole team has passports and is ready to travel for you!

TEAM:

The team consists of myself, Crista Wadsworth, Piper Wadsworth, and occasionally other hired photographers. All photographers on the team have 5-15 years experience.

LOGISTICS:

Our team uses Canon 5D Mark ii & iii cameras and L series Canon lenses.

Every single wedding, party, or event we have worked, at least one guest has approached us saying "I just want to let you know that you are really, really good photographers." I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lauren Page Wadsworth. From the moment we met her, we knew we wanted to work with her. It was important for us to find a photographer who was an artist, willing to try new techniques and push boundaries, and Lauren’s work certainly reflected that.  We hired Lauren and her partner for our Western Massachusetts wedding. We wanted someone who was chill and wouldn’t stress us out. That’s exactly what we got. She and her partner were clever shadows all day — floating from room to room, sneakily setting up beautiful shots with rings and flowers, yet stopping to poke us whenever they saw an opportunity for an interesting shot. I felt completely at ease with her, and I felt that her photographs perfectly captured the story of our day. We had a space-themed wedding, and it was our dream to have some photographs taken at night (which is typically not an easy feat.) Lauren took note of our wishes, and surprised us with not one but dozens of gorgeous shots of the night sky dotted with stars, complete with Milky Way bands. The only problem we have is figuring out which of her beautiful shots to get framed. I also loved that she was very responsive on email. We are very much email people, and she was completely cool with that. It really took the stress off of wedding planning. I highly recommend LPW if you’re looking for a laid-back photographer who will find and capture art in your wedding day.

Lauren did the photography for my wedding in April and she did a tremendous job. I am so pleased with my pictures – they look stunning. Lauren shot my August 2015 wedding and her work was phenomenal. Between her and Crista, they captured so many memorable moments throughout the day. She struck a balance of candid and planned photos and even incorporated some shots that I requested in advance. She and her associate photographer were patient with the many requests from our family members, but did not let that interfere with their ability capture the many photographic opportunities around them. They even stayed extra time at the end of the reception to shoot the sparkler exit (after we exceeded our venue time).
